The Spring season is up and running and we’d like to congratulate all our teams on contributing to the success of our league.  The level of competition is improving every season and we are encouraged to see an increase in competition and the number players playing in the NSL.  Great job everyone!

To help develop our clubs and teams further, we are excited to announce that we will be joining US Club Soccer for the start of the Fall 2017 season.  Our partnership with US Club Soccer continues to demonstrate that the NSL wants to offer the best possible soccer experience to our players, families, coaches, fans and clubs.

One of the reasons that we chose to partner with US Club Soccer was due to their Players First philosophy.  Players First is a branded, holistic club soccer experience for parents and players, which emphasizes the development of each individual to his or her full potential, and helps parents make better choices about where their children should play.  Players First is anchored by five pillars:

  • Club Development
  • Coaching Development
  • Player Development
  • Parent Engagement & Education
  • Player Health & Safety

The overall flexibility, administrative support, encouraged collaboration with other leagues, and extensive value-added benefits for our members, provided by US Club Soccer, will contribute greatly to the development and growth of the NSL in the future.

We are continually working on providing new initiatives for our members with the aim of providing a league that fosters player development through high-quality competition.  We strongly believe the partnership with US Club Soccer will help all our members toCompete, Develop and Succeed.

AnchorTechnical Director News

After finally getting the season underway I wanted to thank our member clubs for their efforts in trying to reschedule the many games we lost from the first weekend.  The spring season never seems to have enough time when you consider April snow, Easter, State Cup and Memorial Day but we will continue to ensure we assist you in getting games played.   The recent ‘Good Housekeeping’ email sent out to all clubs listed some important points to reinforce for this season including the modified rules for 10U games, availability of rosters at games, field and facilities and meeting game commitments.  We will continue to reinforce these standards for this season and all other standards as we move forward.  In addition, we would ask you to please ensure you provide any feedback on officials using the evaluation form posted to our website at www.nslsoccer.org/coaches/referee-evaluation-form/.

We presented some major news regarding the development of the league with our move to US Club Soccer starting fall 2017.   This will give us access to some fantastic resources to help our member clubs and embrace their Players First philosophy.  We are looking forward to being able to host some events alongside our new partner and reinforcing the emphasis on the development of club standards.  For more information on US Club and our relationship with them please follow this link usclubsoccer.org/2017/04/14/us-club-soccer-welcomes-northeast-soccer-league/.

Our 9U jamboree was held on Sunday, April 23rd and we had all our girls and boys teams at play in Lancaster under stunning blue skies.  We also have the New England Revolution in attendance and Slyde the Fox was busy walking the fields and generally making friends!  For pictures from this event please head to our Facebook page.  Finally, May 14th sees our NSL Elite and CJSA Elite cross over the weekend with girls and boys teams from 13U through 18/19U playing a series of games.  For more information on the league and this event please go to the following link www.nslsoccer.org/news/nsl-elite-crossover-games/.

All the best for the remainder of the season and to all our clubs competing in State Cups.
