The new 2017 Spring season will kick-off on April 2nd and we will have a number of different clubs and teams who will be competing at various levels within the NSL. I would like to take to this opportunity to wish all our members an enjoyable and successful season.

The Staff and the Commission have been working hard behind the scenes during the off-season to develop the relationships with our current partners and vendors in addition to exploring other Soccer potential relationships that will lead to the continued improvement of our league. Our aim will always be to provide our member clubs and teams the best possible pathways for development and success. We are also partnering with a new technology company, GotSoccer, that will greatly enhance and streamline our processes, in particular the league’s scheduling and registrations.

I’m also excited to present and share the new NSL pyramid structure. We have been busy developing a structure that allows member clubs and their teams with the experience of higher-level competition as well as offering a merit-based approach to developing pathways for success. We’re still working on perfecting the structure and we welcome any feedback on how to improve it moving forward. The vision of the NSL continues to be: “to provide a league that is for the clubs, by the clubs, and with the clubs built on the core values and beliefs of compete, develop, and succeed.”

We’re all excited and confident about the new Spring season and we will continue to pursue pathways to benefit our member clubs, teams, players, referees, and families.

I wanted to thank everyone at the NSL for your continued support and positive remarks as we get ready for the spring season. We have seen some great attendances at the various coach education programs with over 30 people at the recent PCA Workshop and a completely full NSCAA 11v11 Diploma. In addition, we had several clubs send members of their coaching staff to the NSCAA DOC Diploma and many others went through the recent MYSA E License. As we continue to build a standard based league the importance of coach education will continue to help support our vision of compete , develop, and succeed.

We recently hosted 23 member clubs who were invited to participate in the inaugural season of NSL Elite. On May 14th this league will play in regional crossover games with teams from Connecticut. The feedback we have received from some of our clubs and members of CJSA tells us we are on the right path to move the league forwards. Over the next few weeks, we are going to continue reaching out to our current partners and solicit relationships with new providers who can help provide value added benefits. We hope to be able to share more exciting news with you over the coming season.

Please continue to provide feedback on our league and also celebrate your own success by sending us any pictures, articles or feedback that we can post to our social media platforms. The more information we can collect the more we can build our story. There were some great successes at the recent March tournaments that saw our clubs beat many teams from across the region from various states and leagues. Furthermore, continue to use our partners such as Positive Coaching Alliance at and the NSCAA who both offer tremendous resources to help build your club.
