Procedure for Field Closures
To request a game change, Clubs are asked to make the request by filling out the Game Change Request Form (see below). The form will ask the following questions.
- Who are you?
- How do we contact you by email?
- What club are you with?
- What is causing you to request this change? (select from a list)
- The agreement of the coach for the other team if you are changing date or significantly changing start time.
- A description of change (along with copy of opposing coach’s change approval). Include the game numbers of impacted games.
Weather Related Closures
It is the club’s responsibility to check to see if their field is playable. Since many fields are controlled by others I realize that often it is not your call. Please make sure you have someone in each club responsible for getting this information.
As soon as you know a field will not be open you must notify the NSL office. Often games can be moved if there is sufficient notice. All changes and postponements will be listed on the website. No games will be moved to a different field after Friday night at 5:00pm except in cases of extreme weather.
The deadline for closing a field is 10:00 Sunday morning for U13-18 and 7:00 for U9-U12.
Clubs are responsible for notifying all teams scheduled at their field if a game is postponed or moved. The fact that it is listed on the website does not negate this responsibility.
Requests for schedule changes must be submitted to the NSL League Manager by 5:00pm on the Tuesday prior to that Sunday’s match. After that time, we cannot guarantee that referees will be assigned.
